Hugh Paddick

Hugh was born on the 22nd August 1915 in Hoddeston in Hertfordshire and began his professional life in law but soon discovered that his preference was for a theatre audience rather than a courtroom. A frequent West End performer - he starred as Colonel Pickering for three years in the Drury Lane production of My Fair Lady - he also was a stalwart on radio in Beyond Our Ken and later RTH and Stop Messing About. Most notably in recent years he played one of the duo of camp theatricals training the Prince of Wales in Blackadder the Third. He died on the 9th November 2000 leaving his partner of 30 years.
